Le Restaurant des Enfants de la Rue

Since February 2010 we started the project "THE RESTAURANT DES ENFANTS DE LA RUE" to provide a daily meal to many street children in Phnom Penh. 

It 's a restaurant in all respects but for the street children, a structure where all children can be guaranteed a meal a day and a little of daily hygiene, which, if absent, is often the cause of many diseases. Within the restaurant it is possible to use a shower and hair cutting service is provided. 

These small children, often completely alone as orphans, are destined to work hard ,daily, to contribute to the sustenance of their families or themselves. It is the children who live in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh, street vendors who every day spend the day begging or searching the garbage in hope of finding something that could be sold or eaten. 

We are now feeding about 200 children every day, and it is important to note that with about 0.90 cents per day we could give them a chance to start the day clean, with a full belly, and with a different spirit. 

For several months the restaurant has offered street children who attend the opportunity to learn to read and write and the rudiments of a school that they, unfortunately, are very unlikely to have the opportunity to attend.

From February 1, 2010, opening day, to December 31, 2013 we were able to distributed about 140,000 hot meals.
